Writers' Workshop
Writers’ workshop, like reading workshop, is an instructional model that views writing as an ongoing process in which students follow a given set of procedures for rehearsing, drafting, revising, editing, sharing and publishing their writing. Writers’ workshop allows me as a teacher to meet
the individual needs of the students. Writers’workshop follows a predictable pattern: a mini lesson lasting about 10 minutes, the workshop practice for at least 30 minutes when students work independently, teacher conferences one-on-one, and concluding group share for 5-10 minutes. Below is more information about writers' workshop, a Prezi Presentation: Author’s Purpose- Easy as PIE, by Michelle Thompson, and the difference between revision and editing process.

During the workshop students are involved in many stages as authors:
· Reading and listeninglike a writer
· Rehearsing before and while writing, by mapping, webbing, sequencing, etc
· Drafting with the idea that first words are beginnings
· Revising and editing before, while, and after drafting
· Publishing with readers in mind
