The Gradual Release of Responsibility Model-G.R.M
From teacher's point of view: "I DO - WE DO - YOU DO"
From learner's point of view: " SHOW ME - HELP ME - LET ME"
G.R.M. is an entire instructional cycle during which students learn new skills and knowledge and gradually assume increased responsibility for this learning. It indicates a progression from teacher modeling to shared reading and writing, to guided reading and writing in small groups and to sustained reading and writing. As noted by Pearson and Gallagher, “The critical stage of the model is the 'guided practice', the stage in which the teacher gradually releases task responsibility to the students.”

The goal of G.R.M. is to allow students to become an independent reader.
